Can I Trade Real Estate? | REALTOR.com? Blogs

questions

Q: I have property in Texas 15 acres an investment.. I found a house in Southern Alabama. I would like to trade the 15 acres for the house. They are not equal in price. The house is for sale by owner. Can I do this? Who can help me?
?James, Bedford, TX

A: Dear Bedford TX- Your question of trading Real Estate in Texas for property in Alabama is as complex as you can imagine.

The home you wish to buy will typically be a homeowner needing ca$h instead of another asset that is not liquid?UNLESS the Seller in Alabama has lots of cash and you are offering a very low price as compared to market prices.

The old saying that ?Time is money??rings true here. Your transaction will be highly unlikely?not impossible. Selling your land first will bring the highest possible price for someone wanting land in Texas?and then your offer on the Alabama property with cold cash is more promising.

Good luck with your transaction(s)!
